Yoga is a multifaceted group of beliefs and practices based on the Bhagavad Gita and Patanjali's Sutras centred around the Eight Limbs (Ashtanga) of Yoga:
Yama- attitude and relationship with the external world
Niyama- attitude and relationship with yourself
Pranayama- breathing exercises
Pratyahara- withdrawal of senses
Samadhi- transcending of the self
Hatha Yoga is the practice of Asanas, or postures, and is the most commonly practiced form of Yoga in the West. There are many different styles of Hatha Yoga from restorative Yin to powerful Ashtanga Vinyasa. The style of Hatha Yoga I teach has been heavily influenced by the styles of Ashtanga Vinyasa, Vinyasa flow, and Yin. As I spent 9 months of my teacher training pregnant I am comfortable teaching pregnant ladies.
